An Arrest Is Not a Conviction
Being arrested does not establish guilt. Prosecutors may decline or revise charges, courts may dismiss counts or enter a not-guilty result, and a booking file does not show the final disposition. Later expungement, sealing, or correction can also make an old copy misleading.
